STT members were busy across a number of great community events this week. On Friday, Rose Brennan and Mary Maxwell attended the Shine A Light for Women event in Ballyboughal, which featured a fascinating talk from author Joanna Donnelly on weather patterns. On Saturday, Niamh took part as a panelist at the International Women’s Day “Give to Gain” event at Holywell Community Centre organised by The Bold Woman. Today, Jo Fulham spoke at the Swords Women’s Shed International Women’s Day event about Thrive Swords, while Ramune attended the 40th anniversary of Tree Council of Ireland Tree Week celebration at Newbridge Demesne, where the President of Ireland planted a commemorative oak to launch the week’s tree-planting initiative. 🌳 Another lovely seed and plant swap today! 🌱 Go green with us this St. Patrick’s Day 🍀 Join us this March for a community Seed & Plant Swap / Share - a chance to share what you’ve grown, pick up something new, and connect with fellow gardeners. Let’s reduce waste, support biodiversity, and grow a greener, more sustainable community together. 🌱🌍 #SustainableCommunity #GrowLocal #pollinatorsfriendlygardens Water testing done yesterday at all 10 locations — what a beautiful day for it, with blue skies and chirping birds. The wild garlic is out as well. Swords Tidy Towns had a wonderful night at the RIASC Centre at the showing of the play The Last Pint. A special thank you to all the businesses in Swords who supported our table quiz on the 19th February, it was a great success and the money raised will be well spent on the town. A Huge thanks to everyone who made our February Valentines clothes swap happen 💚 We linked up with the 164th Brackenstown Scouts Group, who did a fantastic job of litter picking around the Swords Manor football pitches. Our Chairperson Ken Duffy and our School Liason Officer Matt Cullen had a question and answer session with them at the end, which we enjoyed very much. A big thank you to Grainne McKenna Scout Leader for contacting us, looking forward to our next link up.
