The Swords area has come a long way from being judged a litter blackspot by the Irish Business Against Litter survey back in 2003, to our present position of third cleanest area in the country according to their 2019 survey. Through the determination and dedication of Swords Tidy Town members, we have accomplished so much. So we are proud to have had our efforts recognised by being awarded three successive Silver Medal Awards in the Supervalu National Awards in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Our focus has also extended to sustainability and biodiversity in recent years, so we were delighted to have won the Fingal Biodiversity Award for our new Polytunnel in 2016; the 2017 FCC Cleaner Community Award for Environmental Initiative, plus the FCC Best Upcycling Award in 2018. At the national level, we won the Supervalu Pollinator award in 2018.STT membership is comprised of people from 14 different cultural backgrounds, so were really pleased to have won the Supervalu Diversity Award in 2017.
