Fundraising

STT members are all enthusiastic volunteers, who are happy to give up their time every Saturday morning all year round, and also on Wednesday evenings in Spring and Summer. They are determined to improve their local natural environment, and are always prepared to put in extra hours to complete projects on time. There are no paid positions. Being a voluntary organisation, the success of our projects depends on cooperation with Fingal Council Operations Department, successful grant applications, but most of all through the generosity of local businesses and the people of Swords. Support from the public is evident from well-attended quiz nights, and the donation of prizes by local businesses. Generous donations to bucket collections at events such as Halloween, St Patrick’s Day parades and the Christmas Fair are also much appreciated.

2017

This year (2022) our group decided to donate half of the proceeds from our bucket collection during the St. Patrick’s Day Parade towards humanitarian aid in war-torn Ukraine. We thank the people of Swords for their generous support.

Our Chairperson Ken Duffy presented a cheque for 500 euros to the Red Cross for this cause
